Dear Mr. Kreuer!

The week of ‘pure Sekem’ far exceeded my expectations: I had already heard about the extensive agricultural areas, but I had not yet heard about the production facilities, textile factory, school, vocational school and curative education. And everywhere there were enthusiastic employees, a pioneering spirit pervaded the facility, and the guest house offered full board if you wanted it. A German-Egyptian gave a perfect, very knowledgeable tour, and there was so much to discover that you wouldn't find in books.

And then there were the excursions with Nihal, the wonderful tour guide, who had attended a German school in Cairo as a child and spoke perfect German. An armed tourist police officer ensured our safety, and our minibus was escorted by police on the way there and back.

As a small group, we learned so much about the country, its light and dark sides, and visited cultural treasures. And then, above all, there was Heliopolis University with its diverse range of study and educational opportunities, including painting, sculpting, eurythmy and drama. Here, too, a pioneering spirit and enthusiasm still reigns on campus.
